ABOUT MSC
When severe weather events call within the Great Lakes region, ISC is quick to answer. The number of times that call comes from Indiana's northern sister was more than enough to catch ISC's attention. Add in the fact that one of ISC's esteemed directors and another member of the chase team happen to call the Great Lake State home, and the choice to expand became an extremely easy one and lead to the decision to develop Michigan Storm Chasers.
MSC observes the same vision, mission, and goals as its parent organization; ISC, and it boasts a growing list of extraordinarily talented chaser-scientists looking to serve and protect the beautiful state of Michigan. The team's primary function will be severe weather forecasting and broadcast, education, and research.
Meet The Team
RYAN HARRIOTT
Team Lead
Vice President of Indiana Storm Chasers, Ryan is one of the most experienced Chasers and Forecasters on the team. He currently resides in Battle Creek, MI but can be found chasing anywhere in MI, IN, and OH.
JOEL FRITSMA
Storm Chaser
Calling Lowell, MI home, Joel has always had a love for weather, gaming, and sports. He is currently studying Meteorology at Central Michigan University and set to graduate in spring of 2024.
OWEN BROADWATER
Storm Chaser
Currently pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Operational Meteorology from Mississippi State University, Owen is an avid outdoorsman and experienced chaser from Monroe, MI.
ALEX MELENDEZ
Storm Chaser
With over 16 years of total storm chasing experience, including 10+ years chasing out in the plains states, Alex brings an ample amount of experience and technical know how to the MSC family. Having studied Meteorology at Central Michigan University, his applied knowledge of forecasting and chasing is nearly unparalleled.
CHANDLER BOS
Storm Chaser
With a home base in southwest Michigan, Chandler is a true outdoorsman. Although he has been chasing since 2014 and having bagged his fair share of tornadoes, he's a man of many hobbies including golf and metal detecting. In the market for a new chase (or family) vehicle? He's the guy to call!
